ORGANISATIONAL UPDATE

Connected needs.
Connected community work.

Our programmes bring dignity, public health and environmental responsibility into the same conversation.

Across Nigeria, millions of women, girls, and vulnerable communities continue to face challenges related to inadequate sanitation, limited access to clean water, poor menstrual health management, and the growing impacts of climate change. Addressing these challenges requires more than awareness—it demands sustainable action, community participation, and long-term commitment.

The Resource Conservation Development Initiative (RCDI) is a women-led, community-driven non-profit organization dedicated to advancing menstrual dignity, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), and climate resilience across Nigeria. Through innovative programs and strategic partnerships, RCDI works to improve public health, protect the environment, and empower underserved communities to build more sustainable futures.

At the heart of our work is the belief that access to clean water, proper sanitation, menstrual health education, and climate knowledge are fundamental human rights. These essential services not only improve health outcomes but also create opportunities for education, economic growth, and social development.

Our initiatives focus on empowering women and girls with the knowledge, resources, and confidence they need to manage their menstrual health with dignity. Through community outreach programs, educational campaigns, and partnerships with schools and local institutions, we are helping to break the stigma surrounding menstruation while promoting healthy hygiene practices.

Beyond menstrual health, RCDI is committed to improving access to clean water and sanitation facilities in underserved communities. We collaborate closely with schools, community leaders, government agencies, and development partners to implement practical solutions that strengthen public health and enhance community resilience.

As climate change continues to impact communities across Nigeria, we also champion environmental sustainability through climate education, environmental advocacy, community clean-up campaigns, and youth engagement initiatives. By equipping communities with the tools and knowledge needed to respond to environmental challenges, we are helping to create a generation of informed and responsible environmental stewards.

Our mission extends beyond providing services—it is about creating lasting change. Through collective action, strategic partnerships, and community ownership, we are building healthier communities, promoting gender equality, protecting the environment, and advancing sustainable development.

Together, we can create a future where every woman and girl lives with dignity, every community has access to clean water and sanitation, and every citizen is empowered to contribute to a healthier, more sustainable Nigeria.

Join us in transforming lives, protecting the environment, and building resilient communities for generations to come.
