Read the event reportOn 30th May 2026, the Resource Conservation Development Initiative (RCDI), through its ThriveFlow Nigeria initiative, will commemorate Menstrual Hygiene Day with a transformative community outreach programme in Bonogu, Kwali Area Council, FCT.
With the theme “200 Women. 200 Girls. One Conversation.”, the event seeks to create awareness, promote menstrual health education, and tackle the challenges of period poverty affecting women and girls in underserved communities.
Menstrual Hygiene Day serves as a reminder that access to menstrual products, education, and proper sanitation facilities is not a privilege but a fundamental right. Through meaningful conversations, community engagement, and practical support, the programme aims to empower participants with knowledge and resources that promote dignity, confidence, and overall well-being.
The event will bring together women, girls, community leaders, health advocates, and development partners to discuss menstrual health challenges, break harmful stigmas, and advocate for sustainable solutions that ensure no girl misses opportunities because of her period.
As part of the ThriveFlow Nigeria initiative, the programme also supports efforts to reduce period poverty through awareness campaigns, reusable menstrual product advocacy, and community-driven solutions that improve menstrual health management.
This impactful event is being organized in partnership with key stakeholders, including the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs, the FCT Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Directorate, Menstrual Hygiene Day partners, and the Kwali Area Council.
Together, we can build a future where every woman and girl has access to the information, products, and support they need to manage menstruation safely and with dignity.
