RCDI has marked World Environment Day since 2017, including early engagement with the FCT Social Development Secretariat. Environmental awareness has remained part of our work with schools, communities and public institutions.
From awareness to participation
Our engagement connects conservation and environmental learning with community responsibility. In 2025, RCDI participated in the Federal Ministry of Environment’s World Environment Day planning committee and activities around the theme “Beat Plastic Pollution”.
Reported 2025 activities included sustainability talks, tree planting and support for student Eco Clubs. These experiences inform Project ReFresh and our continuing work to make environmental responsibility practical.
